Meet Our Dental Team
Dr. Philip Jackson
Dr. Philip Jackson grew up one of seven children in the small town of Hampton. He knew for years that a career in health care was his calling, and he’s truly passionate about helping patients have their best smiles and relieving their discomfort.
After receiving his chemistry degree from Clemson University, he went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree and complete his General Practice residency at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). Dr. Jackson then moved to Columbia to open his own practice.
Instilled with a love of learning from an early age, Dr. Jackson enjoys furthering his knowledge of dentistry by attending continuing education classes and keeping up with the latest industry research. He has seen a lot of great changes in dental technology and techniques and has enjoyed incorporating them into The Smile Studio to benefit his patients. Dr. Jackson is a member of the following organizations:
Dr. Jackson and his wife, Ginger, love spending time with their big family that includes their four wonderful children: Rebekah, Rachel, Kenzie, and Hunter; his daughter-in-law; two sons-in-law; and ten grandchildren. It’s quite a crowd when all 19 get together! He also enjoys photography and loves his Clemson sports teams.
Carol followed in her mother’s footsteps when she chose a career in dental hygiene. She received her B.S. degree (summa cum laude) from the University of Maryland at Baltimore. Her dental career includes a variety of dental settings, from a periodontal office to a general practitioner office to a stint as a fluoride sales representative.
Carol has been a hygienist at The Smile Studio since 1995. After 20 + years, she still loves coming into the office every day and considers both the staff and patients as part of her extended family. She takes great pride in providing the highest quality care in a compassionate and professional manner.
Carol is married to her high school sweetheart, Chuck, and they have three grown children: Danny, Chase, and Connie. Outside of the office, Carol is a volunteer swim coach for Special Olympics. She also enjoys sailing with her husband, reading, hiking, and most of all, spending time with her family.
New Patient Coordinator
Originally from Maryland, Nicole moved south to attend the University of South Carolina and she’s made her home here ever since. She has been with The Smile Studio since 2001 and has enjoyed watching the practice grow throughout the years. Nicole feels lucky to be able to say she has so many patients that she now calls friends.
Nicole and her husband, Mike, are the proud parents of three children: two girls and a boy. In her free time, she enjoys working out, attending sporting events, and boating on Lake Murray with her family and friends.
Billing / Insurance Coordinator
Angie is originally from Dallas, TX and has lived in Lexington since 2001. Since joining The Smile Studio in 2012, she has been helping patients with their insurance and billing needs. Angie has truly enjoyed getting to know our patients who have become friends as well.
When Angie is not working, she and her husband, Greg, stay busy with their children, Rilee and Braycen. On the weekends, they can often be found at a cheerleading competition or on Lake Murray soaking up the sun.
Wendy is a Columbia native. She received her certification as a dental assistant from Midlands Technical College and has been with The Smile Studio since 2004. She is the proud mother of two grown sons, Brandon and Nicholas. Her family and faith are very important to her, and she is actively involved at One Life Church. Wendy loves the outdoors and goes to the coast as much as she can. She is also a local concertgoer and enjoys the music scene in the Columbia area.
Becca grew up in the small town of Lugoff. She received her dental assisting certificate at Palmetto School of Career Development and has been with The Smile Studio since 2017. Becca loves to laugh and considers herself one of the top three funniest people she knows. She likes that she can use this trait as a way to make patients feel at ease while at the dental office. She believes everyone should live their lives to the fullest and smile! In her free time, Becca enjoys spending time with family and friends.
